Inreach & Outreach

Caring for Our Neighbors.
Caring for One Another.

Sometimes caring means providing food, school supplies, warm clothing or Christmas gifts. Sometimes it means sharing a meal, helping with a need, or spending an evening laughing together. At Zion, Inreach & Outreach is about noticing opportunities to care for people—and responding together.

Serving Together

Small Acts Can Make a Real Difference

Inreach & Outreach brings together many of the ways Zion serves people within our congregation and throughout the surrounding community. Some efforts happen every year, some happen every month, and others respond to needs as they arise.

What connects them is simple: people sharing what they have, working together, and caring for their neighbors.

Meeting Practical Needs

Sharing What We Have

Throughout the year, Zion collects food, clothing, school supplies, gifts, and financial contributions that help individuals and families in our community.

Souper Bowl

Each year around Super Bowl Sunday, Zion turns a football weekend into an opportunity to help feed our neighbors. Nonperishable food is collected for the Southern York County Food Pantry.

Back-to-School Supplies

A new school year brings plenty of expenses for families. Zion collects school supplies to help local children begin the year with the materials they need.

Winter Warmth

Gloves, scarves, and other cold-weather items are collected and shared with people who need a little extra warmth during the winter months.

Christmas Giving

During the Christmas season, Zion helps provide gifts for children whose families may otherwise struggle to make Christmas special. Congregation members have an opportunity to help make those wishes possible.

Loose Change Ministry

Even pocket change can become something meaningful when a congregation gives together. Zion's Loose Change Ministry collects small contributions that can be directed toward needs and causes throughout the year.

Food & Fellowship

Third Thursday

Sometimes the best way to build community is simply to sit down and eat together.

Third Thursday is a monthly meal where people can gather around the table for food, conversation, and fellowship. It isn't limited to Zion members—the public and people from other congregations are welcome.

The meal gives old friends a chance to reconnect and new friends an opportunity to meet. There doesn't have to be a complicated program behind it. Sharing a table is often enough.

A Little Friendly Competition

Trivia Time

Not every ministry has to begin with a collection box.

Trivia Time brings people together for an evening of questions, teamwork, conversation, and plenty of laughter.

Zion joins with other area congregations in supporting and participating in Trivia Time. It's another way churches and neighbors can spend time together and strengthen relationships beyond Sunday morning.

Throughout the Year

There Are Many Ways to Take Part

Outreach at Zion isn't one event or one season. Opportunities to contribute, volunteer, gather, and help others appear throughout the year.

Gather

Share a Meal

Join us for Third Thursday and spend some time around the table.

Give

Share What You Can

Food, school supplies, winter clothing, gifts, and even loose change can become part of something larger.

Participate

Join the Fun

Community can also be built through conversation, laughter, fellowship, and a good round of trivia.

Get Involved

There's Room to Help

You don't have to take part in everything. Bring a can of food. Donate a pair of gloves. Help with a meal. Buy a school notebook. Join a trivia team. Small contributions become meaningful when people make them together.
