Blanket Ministry

Loose Change Ministry

Loose Change Sunday at Zion encourages congregants to donate spare change, which is collected during worship services and used to support various outreach initiatives. This simple act of giving provides vital assistance to local and global causes, such as disaster relief, hunger relief, and community support programs. Through Loose Change Sunday, Zion Glen Rock demonstrates its commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need, one coin at a time.


Food Pantry

Zion 's Food Pantry Ministry offers vital support to families facing food insecurity. Congregants contribute donated food items year-round, which are then distributed to the Southern Community Services program. This collaboration ensures that needy families in the community receive essential nourishment and support. Harvest Home

At Zion of Glen Rock, the ELCA Harvest Home program embodies gratitude and compassion. During the autumn season, congregants come together to donate food and financial contributions, expressing thankfulness for the harvest and solidarity with those in need. These donations are then distributed to local food banks and charities, offering crucial support to individuals and families facing food insecurity. Souper Bowl

The Souper Bowl of Caring at Zion mobilizes congregants to fight hunger and poverty in their community. Inspired by the Super Bowl, this annual event encourages donations of food and funds, which are then distributed to local food banks and charities. Third Thursday

Zion Glen Rock's Third Thursday program offers a monthly gathering for the congregation and members of the local community. On every third Thursday of the month, members come together for a shared meal, games, and fellowship. This regular event provides an opportunity for the church community to deepen relationships with one another and the community of Glen Rock. We share laughter, and enjoy each other's company in a relaxed setting. Through the Third Thursday program, Zion Glen Rock fosters a sense of belonging and strengthens connections among its members and the surrounding community.

Giving Tree Elves Program

Zion 's Giving Tree Elves Program spreads holiday cheer by providing gifts to families experiencing financial hardship. Congregants select tags from the Giving Tree, each representing a child's wish list item. They then purchase and donate these gifts, ensuring every child receives a present during the holidays. This program fosters a sense of community, compassion, and joy, exemplifying the spirit of giving and kindness during the holiday season.

Back-to-School

The Back to School Ministry at Zion equips children in need with essential supplies for academic success. Congregants generously donate funds and materials to purchase backpacks, notebooks, pens, and other necessities. Through this initiative, every child receives the tools they need to thrive in their education, regardless of financial circumstances. Zion joins forces with local churches to host Trivia Time, a community-building initiative. Through hosting, funding, and participation, Zion Glen Rock encourages fellowship and camaraderie. These trivia contests provide a wholesome, loving environment for families and friends to enjoy together.
