Once again, our Youth Group is back in 2019 for another year of fun!

Who should attend?

Children in grades 4th through 12th are welcome to attend.
Friends, Guests and Drop-ins are ALWAYS welcome!

What to expect

“L.O.O.K. Around You / Love Others Offer Kindness” is our focus and theme.

Each meeting is dedicated to connecting core values from the Bible to everyday life through games, activities and scripture.

In addition, we try to plan activities outside of the regular meetings. In the past, for example, we have done apple and pumpkin picking, camping out, miniature golf, pool parties, fundraising dinners, participation in the 30-Hour Famine, ice-skating, bowling, “Minute to Win It” night, snow tubing, and much more.

Where do we meet?

The Zion Lutheran Church Community Room

When are meetings scheduled?

We meet twice per month - usually on Sunday – 6:15pm – 7:30pm.

9/15/2019:  “Who’s In?”
We will play games and do activities to better understand what it is like to be in a healthy Christian community.

9/27-29/2019:  Middle School ALiVE Event
Our annual synod-wide retreat at Camp Nawakwa in Biglerville, PA. Congregational groups lodge together in cabins and attend large group gatherings with singing, interactive activities and videos, and small group conversations led by trained staff. Along with the various learning opportunities, there are games, campfires, free-time and lots of time for meeting and making new friends. Youth come away with some great memories, friends and faith moments.

10/13/2019: “Mystery Prize”
We will discover through our activities that Jesus willingly lived a life full of temptation so that we could learn to resist our own temptations.

10/25/2019:  “Trail of Doom”   (Friday Evening Pizza Party)
We’ll do activities to show that disciples of Christ follow Jesus no matter the costs.  It is learning about how following Jesus is not always easy and how we face challenges every day.  Realizing that there are challenges is the first part of following Christ.  We’ve also planned some Halloween games.

11/10/2019: The Good Life”
Our activities will help us to discover the importance of following God's instructions rather than chasing after the ways of the world.

11/24/2019: “Orange Surgery”
An object lession to help you discover your inability to fix the problem of your own sin and learn about God's abundant grace.

12/8/2019: “Fizzling Out”
An object lesson to help you to think through how to strengthen your daily connection with God in the midst of being busy.
